The family will celebrate her life next spring with a family reunion.
Stephanie was born July 26, 1938, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to Frank Matthew Stevens and Edna Mae Stevens. She spent some of her childhood in Wyoming and some time in Iowa, where she attended grade school. Her older brother, John Arthur Stevens, was born in Cheyenne in 1935, followed by Marjorie Marie on July 28, 1946 and Judith Kay on July 28, 1946 in Iowa.
Eventually the family moved to Santa Paula, Calif., where Stephanie attended high school. Then they moved to Anaheim, where she graduated in 1956.
After graduation, Stephanie married Lee Edward Risner, Sr., and they had three children, Lee Edward Jr., Lee Anne and Lori Lynn. After their divorce, Stephanie later married Adrian Lee Pauling and gave birth to Michelle Lee Pauling. Through her younger years, she worked in various factories in Torrance. When she moved to Ridgecrest, she worked at Discount Glass Company. Stephanie liked cats and would adopt any stray cat that came along.
She is survived by her son Lee and wife Jenny of Boise, Idaho; daughters Pastor Lee Anne and husband Pastor “Hap” Pruit of West Virginia, Lori Lynn Ellis and husband Robbie Ellis of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Michelle Lee and husband Rick Haukon of Lacey, Wash.; sisters Marjorie M. Wilson and husband Jerry Wilson of Ridgecrest and Judith Kay Wilson, also of Ridgecrest. Stephanie is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Matthew Stevens, on May 23, 1983, and her mother, Edna Mae Stevens, on April 26, 2001. Her brother, John Arthur Stevens, passed away in 2010.
Stephanie will be very much missed by all of her family and friends, especially her friends at Ridgecrest Health Care, including the staff. May she rest in peace.
