Bingo fireworks fundraiser set
Do you enjoy playing Bingo? You can enjoy the game and help the community at the big Fireworks Jackpot Bingo Fundraiser, set for June 22 at the Kerr McGee Center, 100 West California Ave. All proceeds will help purchase the fireworks for the Forth of July community fireworks display.
Hosted by the Ridgecrest Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus, this promises to be a big event for Bingo lovers. Only 300 tickets will be sold.
Presale tickets at $35 each are on sale now at Toboco Traders, Center Professional Pharmacy, Kerr McGee Center, the Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce, All That Glitters Jewelry and the Knights of Columbus Hall. If you wait to buy your ticket at the door, the price will be $40.
Your ticket gets you 20 games, with a prize for each game of $200 (175 players minimum). For just $15 more at the door, you can purchase an extra Jackpot Bingo 20-game pack while supplies last. Extra single cards will be available for each game. Food and drink will be available, with coffee and popcorn offered free. Also featured will be a 50/50 drawing and door prizes.
There will also be three games of “Double Action” Blackout Bingo at $2 per card or three cards for $5 for a 100-percent payout up to $250. You must be 18 or older to play, and you must purchase at least the Jackpot Bingo Pack to play.
With the purchase of the Jackpot Bingo Pack, you can also come early and play “Early Bird Bingo,” which is five games of Bingo for $5 with a 75-percent payout up to $250. In Early Bird, the more you play, the more the organizers pay!
Kerr McGee Center doors will open at 9 a.m. on June 22. Early Bird Bingo will start at 10 a.m., with Jackpot Bingo starting at 11 a.m. Enter the Kerr McGee Center from the south entrance for this event and enjoy the air conditioning and the cushioned seats as well.
For those who don’t play very often, or at all, don’t worry — the staff will play only as fast as the slowest player because they want you to not only have the chance of winning, but have fun as well. Explanations will be given for each game played, and an information sheet will be given to each player as you enter.
The Lions Club has committed to $22,000 in fireworks for this year’s display. Come on out and help support your community for the Fourth of July!
Businesses can buy one or more tickets to give to their employees as a “Thank You.” Community members can buy one as a donation to help pay for this year’s show, even if you don’t come to play.
Or, you can be a community hero and donate just one dollar per person to the Ridgecrest Lions Charity Foundation Fireworks Fund, P.O. Box 2301, Ridgecrest, CA 93556.
