Johns memorial service June 1
A memorial service to honor and remember the life of EODCS Timmy Johns will be held at the All Faith Chapel on June 1 at 1 p.m. Johns died as a result of injuries in a local vehicle accident on April 27.
At the time of his passing, Johns was 42 years old and stationed at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Detachment at China Lake. He was well respected as an American hero who survived traumatic wounds in the line of duty during his multiple deployments to the Middle East.
Many will be gathering after the service at DJ’s Pub to continue the celebration of Timmy.
A fundraiser at the Pizza Factory on June 1 has been arranged to raise money for the EOD Warrior Foundation in his honor. That day 30 percent of all proceeds of food purchases will be donated to helping those who have given their all. Participants in the fundraiser must show the flyer or mention the fundraiser at the time of purchase.Story First Published: 2013-05-29
