Edna Mae Cantrell
Longtime resident Edna Mae Cantrell, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, in Palmdale Regional Medical Center. She was 66 years old.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 28, at Victory Baptist Church, 242 W. Panamint Ave., Ridgecrest, with Pastor E. Benjamin Thomas, III officiating.
Edna was born April 1, 1947, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Eddie and Willie Mae Thomas. The family relocated to Ridgecrest in 1956 after the unexpected death of her father. Edna attended Los Flores Elementary School, James Monroe Jr. High School and Sherman E. Burroughs High School. In 1965 she graduated from Burroughs.
She is survived by daughter Brenda Cantrell of Ridgecrest; niece Renee Jones (Rick) of King George, Va.; nephew, Eddie B. Thomas III (Brenda) and niece, Tina Jackson of Ridgecrest; Priscilla Moses of San Diego; great-nieces Cheree’ Thomas and Amanda Thomas of Ridgecrest; great-nephews, Thomas Jackson, Eddie B. Thomas IV and Scott Thomas of Ridgecrest;, great-great-niece Alayna Johnson of Ridgecrest; and cousins, Seon Timmons, Kembra Lucas and Ebony Cartwright, of San Diego.Story First Published: 2013-05-29
