Shibley to discuss Cal UAS project

Join the Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce for a very important luncheon on May 14, as Eileen Shibley presents the latest information on the Cal UAS project.

The luncheon will be held at noon on May 14 at Victoria’s at the Heritage.

The California Unmanned Aircraft Systems Portal engineering design team has established an area of operations within California’s vast aerospace environment to research concepts, evaluate performance and safely operate unmanned aircraft systems to provide data to the FAA as it works toward enabling the safe integration of UAS into the national airspace environment.

The FAA’s efforts are in response to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 requiring the FAA to determine safe ways to integrate UAS into the national airspace by 2015. The Cal UAS Portal Consortium seeks to support this national agency in meeting that goal.

The price of luncheons is now $20 per chamber member with a reservation made by May 13, and $25 per nonmember or memberwithout a reservation by May 13. Prepaid six-pack luncheon tickets are available for $99 or $16.50 per luncheon. To RSVP, call 760-375-8331 or e-mail chamber@ridge
