Jack Richard Thompson
Jack Richard Thompson died April 18, 2013, in Ridgecrest. He was 83.
A memorial is set for Saturday, April 27, at 9 a.m. at H. K. Holland Memorial Chapel in Ridgecrest. Pastor Edward E. Jayne will officiate. Burial will take place at Desert Memorial Park in Ridgecrest.
Jack was born July 30, 1929, in Los Angeles. He served in the U. S. Army, as well as in both the Army and Navy reserves.
He was an electronic technician at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, and retired in 1999.
Jack was a motorcycle enthusiast and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He belonged to the Sierra Desert Gun Club and was an honorary Rotarian. He loved cross-country running and singing barbershop quartet.
Jack always had a smile and a witty personality. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by daughters Hope Holzer and husband Chris of Stevenson, Wash., Cherie Kirkpatrick and husband Tim of Las Vegas, Nev., and Pam Thompson of Ridgecrest; grandchildren Joshua Bragg and wife JoAnna, Dustin Bragg and wife Jennifer, Shawn Kirkpatrick and wife Jennifer, Erin Kirkpatrick and David Kirkpatrick; great-grandsons Alex 12, Dylan 7, Connor 4 and Quinn, 3; brothers Robert Thompson and wife Barbara of Manhattan Beach and David Thompson and wife DeAnn of Blue Spring, Mo.; five nephews; two nieces and best friend Robert Gould.
