CERT training classes set for May 4, 5,11
The Indian Wells Valley Community Emergency Response Team will offer CERT training May 4, 5 and 11 at City Hall. CERT training sessions are for individuals interested in becoming more aware of emergency and disaster preparedness issues and more involved with their local community.
Under the direction of local emergency responders, CERT teams help provide critical support by giving immediate assistance to victims, providing damage assessment information and organizing other volunteers at a disaster site.
Volunteers trained in CERT also offer a potential workforce for duties such as shelter support, crowd control and evacuation. The role of a CERT volunteer is to safely help others until trained emergency personnel arrive.Interested students must pre-register by April 30.
