Water District to begin reading meters manually
Beginning in May 2013, the IWV Water District will make the transition to manually reading 8,500 meters. Since manual readings take longer than the automated meter-read system, the number of days between reads may be extended, thereby causing some customers to be billed at a higher tier than they normally would.
To better manage the number of days between reads, the IWVWD Board of Directors recommended that the transition be spread over the next six months. If unforeseen circumstances cause the number of days between meter reads to become excessive, the board voted 5-0 Monday, April 8, to allow water usage rates to be capped at Tier 3 for routes affected by this conversion.Story First Published: 2013-04-24
