Local runners accounted for
A local network of runners breathed a sigh of relief Monday when participants from the Indian Wells Valley community were all accounted for after bombs killed three and injured more than 100 at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
China Lake officials reported that they are taking appropriate measures to ensure force protection in light of what some have characterized as a terrorist attack, but they declined to disclose specifics.
“What I can tell you is that we have an appropriate level of security. We are being vigilent, but there have been no changes visible to the naked eye,” said Peggy Shoaf of China Lake Public Affairs.
