Burglary suspect arrested

A 24-year-old Ridgecrest man has been arrested on counts relating to residential burglary and possession of stolen property, according to a statement released from the Ridgecrest Police Department.

A report of a residential burglary on North Gold Canyon Drive was filed with police on March 30. The victim reported theft of electronics, including video-game consoles, a laptop, an iphone, cameras a Kindle and miscellaneous jewelry.

Officers were able to locate evidence at the scene. Officers Lee and Shaffer contacted Justin James Speck, who lives in the area. Through a follow-up investigation RPD officers confirmed his involvement in the burglary and recovered most of the stolen property, states the report.

Speck was arrested and booked at Kern County Jail in Bakersfield. The recovered property was returned to the victim.

The police is still searching for some of the stolen items, including the iPhone, the Kindle, the cameras and the jewelry. Anyone with information relating to the stolen property is asked to call the RPD at 760-499-5100.
