Traffic stop yields meth find
When a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop at the intersection of South Downs Street and West Dolphin Avenue in Ridgecrest on March 22 at 7:49 p.m., the driver of the Honda Accord must have been very nervous indeed.
When the deputy learned that the driver, Timothy Haynes, 49, was on probation, the deputy conducted a probation search on the car and found approximately half a pound of methamphetamine and more than $2,600 in currency. The drugs had a street value of approximately $4,000.
Haynes and his passenger, Kevin Underwood, 47, were arrested and booked into the Ridgecrest jail on charges of possession, transportation and sales of illegal narcotics.Story First Published: 2013-03-27
