Man held on narcotics charges

Daniel Wayne Gleason, 34, was arrested on multiple, alleged drug-related charges on March 16 following a traffic stop in the 100 block of North China Lake Boulevard.

Officers Cushman and Shaffer of the Ridgecrest Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Gleason’s vehicle on March 16 and found him to be to be on post-release community supervision with search terms.

During a search of the vehicle and Gleason’s person, officers located approximately 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine, scales, drug paraphernalia and plastic baggies for the packaging of controlled substances, according to a press release by Sgt. Ryan Marrone.

Gleason was arrested on charges of alleged possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for sale and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.

He was taken to the Kern County Jail in Ridgecrest and booked on these charges. His bail was set at $65,000.

The Kern County Superior Court calendar reports that felony arraignment hearings on March 19 and 20 included the above charges and one count of possession of a switch blade and violation of post-release supervision. Gleason’s pre-preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 2 at the East Kern Superior Court Division in Ridgecrest.
