Easter celebration kicks off with community-wide egg hunt

Who doesn’t remember the excitement of hunting for Easter eggs as a kid? What parent doesn’t treasure the memory of seeing their child scampering across the grass in search of the prized decorated egg? What could be a better way to kick off Easter weekend than creating or reliving memories like these during the Ridgecrest Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30 at the Leroy Jackson Park (softball field area)?

More than 25,000 candy-filled plastic eggs are set to go with “hunts” divided into seven age-appropriate groups from age 2 and younger all the way to age 17. Parents may accompany and assist their little ones up to age 4. Each age group will have a chance at finding “prize eggs” with special awards and gifts.

The day will be far more than just searching out the hidden treats. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be bounce houses and other inflatables, plus an obstacle course to thrill and entertain the children.

Kids of all ages will also enjoy the many challenging and fun skill games. Other activities include face painting for the kids and a rock-climbing wall. Best of all, every bit of this fun is completely free with great food, treats and soft drinks also available for purchase from a variety of local vendors.

Registration is free and opens at 9 a.m. An adult or parent to participate in the hunt or other activities must register each child. Parents are encouraged to speed their way through the registration process by pre-registering online at the RCA Church page on Facebook or via the form at http://goo.gl/kMN5h.

Wristbands will be issued at registration for all participants. Egg hunts will be spaced through the morning to allow parents with different ages of children to supervise and assist their children during the various hunts.

There will be giveaways throughout the event, including two bicycles compliments of Jim Charlon Ford and TJ Frisbee Bicycles.

This second annual Ridgecrest Community Easter Egg Hunt is a free event presented by the members of the RCA Church in an effort to contribute to the quality of life for the Ridgecrest community.
