James McNeely passed away Jan. 9 at Antelope Valley Hospital.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church on March 11 at 10 a.m. with a reception to follow. His ashes will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, Calif.
Jim was born May 28, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo. He spent four years in the Navy before attending Parks College of St. Louis University and graduating with a B.S. degree in aircraft maintenance engineering in 1973. He then worked as an engineer for the Navy at the Patuxent River Navy base in Maryland until 1977, then for the Environmental Protection Agency in Ann Arbor, Mich., before coming to work at China Lake in 1979. He retired in 2004 after working in various departments including Parachutes and Weapons Systems.
Jim enjoyed traveling and working in his shop.
He is survived by his wife Rochelle of Ridgecrest as well as daughter Margaret Wise and granddaughter Kaitlyn Wise both of Springfield, Mo.
