Robert (Bob) DeBernardi Sr.
Robert (Bob) DeBernardi Sr. passed away Oct. 17 2012, at his home. He was the son of the late Virgil DeBernardi and Mabel (McCullough) DeBernardi.
Bob was born in Arcata, Humboldt County, Calif. on Sept. 25, 1930. He served in the Navy from 1948-1952 and was a Korean War veteran. After his service discharge, Bob attended Humboldt State College and later attended San Francisco State College.
Bob loved music, bowling, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. He loved animals and always had lots of pets. Bob worked for more than 35 years in the semiconductor industry starting with William Shockly at Semiconductor Lab in Mountain View, Calif., and later with Fairchild and Tektronix in Beaverton, Ore.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret (Fulps) DeBernardi, who he married in1953; three children, Robert Jr., Daryl Ann, and David; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his sister Virgene (DeBernardi) Peshel of Atwater, Calif., cousin Joan Kenneday and her husband Lincoln, and Raylene DeBernardi of Idleyld Park, Ore.Story First Published: 2013-02-27
