Joshua Anthony Killinger
Joshua Anthony Killinger, beloved son and friend, unexpectedly passed away on Feb. 12 in Bakersfield at the age of 30.
A memorial service will be held at the H.K. Holland Memorial Chapel on Friday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m. Burial will be private.
Josh was born Aug. 6, 1982, and attended schools in Ridgecrest and Frazier Mountain Park.
He was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest, always asking why and why not.
He always looked forward to spending time with his dad, especially the traveling and fishing trips. Experiencing the Grand Canyon and visiting his cousin Troy in Colorado were two of his favorite adventures.
Early on he could be found riding his prized dirt bike through the desert. Watching movies, listening to music and enjoying Mexican food were favorite pastimes. Church activities included having fun manning the 4th of July booth.
Josh was a client of Kern Regional Center and had worked with DART in Ridgecrest and Just Johnsons in Bakersfield. Josh also enjoyed the support and friendship provided through Karnesha and her New Opportunities SLS crew.
Josh is survived by his loving family including dad, Anthony (Tony), stepmom, Kathy and stepsister Darcy. Many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive him. His mother, Sandy, and grandmother, Mary, preceded Josh in death.
Josh you touched all of our hearts. We miss and love you.
