Attempted murder charges filed

A 26-year-old Ridgecrest woman faces multiple charges connected with a stabbing incident in the 1300 block of North El Prado Street on Feb. 5.

Four Ridgecrest Police officers were dispatched at around 6:15 Tuesday evening, Detective Kenneth Merziak reported in a RPD press release.

“Officers, Tucker, Hamilton, Dilley and Cushman responded to the Desert Willow Apartments regarding a person reportedly armed with a knife. The officers discovered a victim inside an apartment at the above location, who sustained multiple stab wounds. They provided treatment for the victim until Liberty Ambulance and Kern County Fire arrived on scene.” The victim was taken to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital and remained in stable condition on Friday.

During the investigation Platt was alleged to be responsible for the stabbing, and she was taken into custody at the scene without further incident. According to court calendars, her felony arraignment hearing was held on Feb. 7.

In addition to an attempted murder charge and a pre-preliminary hearing on Feb. 19, the calendar reports one count of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of exhibiting a deadly weapon other than firearm and one count of battery on a person.

Another hearing, on a report questioning Platt’s mental competence, is scheduled for Feb. 28. All scheduled court actions will be held in Superior Court of California, Kern County East Division, in Ridgecrest.
