Arrest follows two-month investigation

Last week, Ridgecrest Police Department detectives, in cooperation with Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents, concluded a two-month investigation of transportation and sale of heroin in thecity of Ridgecrest.

According to a press release prepared by RPD Detective Manny Castaneda, the investigation revealed that Brock Eric Weisbrich, 25, was allegedly transporting and selling heroin in Ridgecrest.

On Jan. 30 at about 5 p.m., a search warrant was executed in the 1800 block of West Upjohn Avenue in Weisbrich’s vehicle and residence.

As a result of the search, RPD detectives and NCIS agents located and seized a large amount of money, several firearms and heroin.

A total of 72 grams of Mexican Brown heroin were located in Weisbrich’s possession, Castaneda reported. The heroin has an estimated street value of approximately $7,200.

Weisbrich was arrested on three controlled-drug charges alleging the possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sale. He was booked into the Kern County Jail, and his bail has been set at $55,000.
