On Tuesday afternoon Animal Control Officer Candace Robbs and Ridgecrest Police Officer Cushman were at the park, where a bobcat had climbed up into a tree. According to Mary Stage, animal control supervisor, officers planned to use a humane trap to capture the cat and release it into the nearby wilderness. “They look for water and food—the park has water and the area has stray cats and the snow geese are flying in, so it would be attractive to a hungry wild cat,” said Stage.
