Pro-Life demonstration planned

To the Editor:

Local Pro-Life demonstrations are planned for Tuesday, Jan. 22.

The purpose of these outdoor demonstrations is to publicly commemorate the total of approximately 53 million victims of surgical abortions that have taken place in the U.S.A. since the infamous Row vs. Wade U.S. Supreme Court decision handed down on Jan. 22, 1973.

This Roe vs. Wade decision essentially legalized abortion at any time during the nine months of a normal pregnancy of a woman or girl.

Two outdoor public demonstrations will be held to commemorate this sad anniversary of 40 years.

1. On public sidewalks leading to the western entrance to Burroughs High School from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

2. On public sidewalks in front of the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital and IWV Surgery Center from 4-5 p.m.

Please note that both of these events will use graphic pictures to show the end results of abortion in addition to the more mundane type of placards.

“When abortion is hidden, abortion is tolerated. When abortion is seen, everything changes.” Reference Priest for Life U.S.A. Silent prayer and song are requested of the participants for the one-hour time period to ask for God’s forgiveness for our nation and our nation’s leaders and for these mass crimes against both God and humanity.

All citizens 16 years and older are invited and encouraged to take part in these public demonstrations.
