Yolee Rusciolelli Quinn lost her valiant battle with leiomyosarcoma and passed away peacefully at her home in Glide, Ore., on Dec. 4, 2012. There will be a memorial service at Crossroads Community Church in Ridgecrest on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m.

Yolee was born on Nov. 15, 1955 at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois.

In 1956 her family moved to China Lake, where she grew up and made lifelong friends.

After graduating early from Burroughs High School in 1973 she went to Bakersfield College, then moved to San Luis Obispo to study journalism at Cal Poly.

Yolee met her husband, Dan Quinn, in college. They opened a wholesale nursery in Los Osos, Calif. In 1989 they moved to Glide, Ore., where she was accepted with open arms into the community. They purchased a home on the Umpqua River and eventually opened another nursery behind their home.

Yolee’s creativity was seen in every aspect of her personal and business life. She surrounded herself with the beauty of nature and accented it with her personal touch!

She transformed her house into an amazingly cozy, cottage home. She loved to quilt and make afghans for friends and family. She spent many weekends at flee markets, antique stores and thrift shops looking for treasures to keep or resell.

Yolee’s personality had a way of drawing people into her life. She will always be known as a beautifully strong, caring, giving, creative and loving person. We are all better people because of her, and she will be missed more than words can say.

Yolee is survived by her husband Dan Quinn of Glide, Ore.; parents Dick and JoAnn Rusciolelli of Apple Valley, Calif.; sister Pam Rusciolelli Bowen, brother-in-law Jim Bowen, niece Kimberly Bowen, nephew Steven Bowen and great niece Audreyelle, all of Colorado and Arizona. She is also survived by her brother, Dante Rusciolelli and his daughter Willow of Hollywood, Calif., as well as scores of family and very dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Rusciolelli.
