Toys for Tots going strong

The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is going strong in Ridgecrest. This program works alongside the Salvation Army to provide a Christmas gift for each needy child in the Indian Wells Valley area.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be made at donation boxes at Gateway School, Richmond School, Las Flores School, Ridge-crest Gymnastics Academy, Navy Federal Credit Union, Bank of America, Kmart, Pizza Factory, Casey’s, Desert Valleys Credit Union, Carriage Inn, Walgreen’s McDonald’s, Toyota of Ridgecrest, Big Lots, SpringHill Suites, Walmart and the Navy Exchange.

The Toys for Tots Program covers children up to age 14. For youngsters older than 14 and those whose applications are received after the deadline (which ended Dec. 8), the Salvation Army will handle serving them. The Salvation Army handles the application process for both organizations for the toy drive.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit public charity.
