Lorene Bernice Clark
Lorene Bernice Clark died on Nov. 14, 2012, in Ridgecrest. She was 89.
A memorial service is planned for Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Ridgecrest, 639 N. Norma St.
Lorene was born to William and Lucy Odell in Fayette County, Ill., on Dec. 31, 1922. She moved to Long Beach, Calif., in 1944.
In September 1945, she came to the Ridgecrest area, where she was married to William Thurm. The marriage lasted 27 years. He has since passed away.
She was a founding member of the United Methodist Church of Ridgecrest.
In 1972 Lorene was married to William Curtis Clark, whom she called “Curtie.” They were married for nine years until he passed away.
She was a new- account manager at the Bank of America in Ridgecrest and retired from there after many years of service.
In 1991 she married Leo Grosbier and together they had many adventures.
Lorene enjoyed golf, ceramics, bowling and travel. She saw a lot of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurm, Clark, three brothers, a sister-in-law, and three nephews.
Lorene is survived by her husband Leo Grosbier; sister Lelia Fletcher; sister-in-law Evalena Odell; grandchildren Chrystopher Thurm, Cathryn Thurm and Chrystene Thurm Zimmerman; new grandson-in-law Dale Zimmerman; Odell’s son Mark Thurm and wife Necia; and many nieces and nephews.
