Trade career grant leads to more training options at Cerro Coso
A significant trade career grant has boosted funds for training at Cerro Coso Community College. An Information Night will be offered for those interested in new health careers at the college on Wednesday, Nov. 28, in Room 246 of the main building from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Information for those interested in welding courses at the college will also be available.
The event will offer an opportunity to find out how Cerro Coso Community College can prepare for some of today’s most in-demand careers.
“Healthcare occupations make up 10 of the 20 fastest growing occupations in the United States.
“Cerro Coso Community College is the recipient of a $1.5 million Trade Adjustment Assis-tance Community College Career Training grant that will afford the college the opportunity to meet the increased needs for skilled workers in the healthcare profession that offers students interesting career options,” said Valerie Karnes, dean of career technical education at Cerro Coso.
Attend the Information Night to find out what is needed to be a medical assistant, certified nursing assistant or home health aide.
