Gem-O-Rama support appreciated

To the Editor:

Trona doubled in size at the recent 71st Gem-O-Rama on Oct. 13-14. We had 3,550 people on the three field trips to Searles Lake to collect the saline minerals. With approximately 2,500 visitors in attendance, this was the second largest show since 2009.

The Searles Lake Gem and Mineral Society would like to thank the following: Searles Valley Minerals, Alpha Explosives, Searles Valley Water Co., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dept., Citizens on Patrol, Trona Unified School District, Trona Fire Fighters’ Assoc., Trona Community Church, Trona Presbyterian Church, Jeff McCurdy and all of our Trona community people who volunteered during the show. Also thank you to all of the Searles Lake Gem and Mineral members for all of their help all during the year and at show time for the success of the Gem-O-Rama.
