Searles Valley endorses Gleason for supervisor

Arzell Hale, executive director of Searles Valley Minerals, announced this week that SVM endorses and supports Mick Gleason for Kern County 1st District.

After traveling all over the world and retiring as commanding officer of Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, Mick Gleason and his wife Robynn elected to live in Ridgecrest and work for our community,” said Hale. “He is an outstanding proven leader, very experienced in managing budgets and is dedicated to bringing jobs to the district.

“His experience with the China Lake Alliance, his relationship with the military — both in California and in Washington D.C. — will be invaluable to the district. His support from Rep. Kevin McCarty will be a great advantage for the district in Congress. There is no doubt; Mick is the most qualified for this position.

“In this position, Mick will represent more than 500 of our employees and their families. The Searles Valley Minerals wage and benefit programs amount to approximately $63 million per year, most of which is spent in Kern County.”
