Friends of the Fair Parade

Desert Empire Fair Parade participants High Desert Stars Youth Sports Cheerleading Group cheered all the way along the parade route Oct. 20. According to Organizer Kathy Armstrong, the parade had 47 entries, plus community emergency vehicles following at the end of the parade. The Bureau of Land Management fire truck went ahead of the parade, with siren on, to announce to spectators to clear the street. A good turnout of spectators was reported, especially at major corners. “Everyone in this valley helped save a 60-year-old parade,” said Armstrong. “No one person can do all this alone. The Friends of the Fair are my committee members. We are elated.” Photo by Laura Austin
