The special meeting of the Ridgecrest City Council scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18, has been canceled because of the lack of agenda items, according to City Clerk Rachel Ford.

This is one of the special meetings scheduled to accommodate two regular council meetings that were canceled so that Councilman Jason Patin — who is attending the police academy to become a reserve officer of the Ridgecrest Police Department — could participate during his temporary conflict.

The following regularly scheduled meeting of the council — normally Nov. 7 — has also been canceled, with a special meeting scheduled for Nov. 8. The agenda for that meeting has not yet been announced.
