Christopher James Armstrong
Christopher James Armstrong passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. He was 30.
His memorial service will be Thursday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m. at the Ridgecrest Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 555 Las Flores Ave. A reception will follow immediately at a private residence.
Christopher was born Jan. 11, 1982, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Viki Prusia of Ridgecrest and James Armstrong of Round Rock, Texas. Christopher moved with his mother to Ridgecrest in February, 1987.
He attended the Ridgecrest Seventh-Day Adventist School through eighth grade and graduated high school from Immanuel Christian School. His first year of college was at Walla Walla University in Walla Walla, Wash., and then he attended Cerro Coso Community College off and on while working toward a degree in music and computer engineering.
Music was Christopher’s passion, and he was an accomplished musician.
“To know Christopher was to love him. His passing leaves a huge void in the lives of his family and close friends,” said his mother, Viki.
He is survived by both parents; grandparents Victor and Sandra Jennings of Madison, Ala.; sisters, Antje Frei of Los Angeles and Danielle Halewijn of Fullerton; brother Jayson Wallar of Cookeville, Tenn.; uncle Robert Jennings and aunt Lupe Jennings of Inyokern, aunt Lynn Lloyd and uncle Dan Lloyd of Madison; and cousins Brianna Adams and Brooke Lloyd of Madison and Victor, Bethany, and Joseph Jennings of Inyokern.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital Foundation, 1081 N. China Lake Blvd., Ridgecrest, CA 93555, Attention: Alice Benton.
