Burroughs honors militaryDuring Burroughs High School’s Armed Forces Appreciation Night Sept. 21, service personnel representing armed services stand at attention while the BHS Marching Band plays their services’ anthems. From left are: Nate Humphrey, petty officer Third Class, U.S. Navy, a 2011 BHS graduate, whose brother Joe is on the BHS football team; Marine Sgt. Jacob Macfee, a 1999 BHS grad who played football for BHS, served in Iraq as an aircraft rescue firefighter and now serves as an assistant fire chief for USAF Plant 42 Federal Fire Department in Palmdale; and Army Sgt.
