David Jacoby, 93, of Ridgecrest passed away on Sept. 13, 2012.
A Sept. 18 memorial and celebration of life officiated by Dennis Henden, military honor and American Legion presence will be held at the H.K. Holland Memorial Chapel. Visitation hours will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the memorial service. Burial will be at Desert Memorial Park.
Born Dec. 13, 1918, in Hudson, Wyo., Jacoby was a World War II veteran, having served with the US Army CoC64th Armed Infantry Battalion from Sept. 25, 1940, through Oct. 21, 1945.
He came to Ridgecrest in 1950 and was an explosive ordnance technician at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, retiring on June 30, 1972.
He was a member of 2013 American Legion and the VFW of Ridgecrest.
He is survived by son Larry Pavey and daughter-in-law Margaret of Nevada, Iowa; and grandsons Aaron Pavey of Rock Springs, Wyo., A. J. Pavey of Green River, Wyo., and Josh Pavey of Ft. Hood, Tex as. Also surviving him are extended family members Tom, Claudette, Robin, Brandon (as a grandson and best friend), Ryan and Gavin Zurn, Chris and Amie Pellett; and five great grandchildren.
