Dorothy Mae Manues
Dorothy Mae Manues passed away Aug. 23, 2012, at Brighton Convalescent Home in Pasadena. She was 69.
Her memorial service will be held Oct. 27 at Hoffmeister Funeral Home in St. Louis, Mo.
Dorothy was born on July 29, 1943, and grew up in St. Louis, Mo., later moving to Long Beach, Calif. Dorothy worked for a manufacturing factory in Long Beach for a number of years. She eventually moved to Ridgecrest to be closer to her family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Before she moved to Ridgecrest, when she would come to visit, she and her grandchildren would stay up and have a grand time chatting and catching up. She enjoyed needlework (embroidery). She also loved listening to oldies — Elvis and Loretta Lynn. Dorothy loved to travel and see the countryside; she loved going on drives to the mountains.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her and loved her.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Tina and husband Rusty Warren of Ridgecrest; grandchildren Monica Jernigan and husband Jesse, and Russell Warren also of Ridgecrest and Eva Warren of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandson Jesse Jernigan of Ridgecrest; her mother, Mildred Ames of St. Louis, Mo.; sister, Georgann Foster and husband Jerry of Grain Valley, Mo.; as well as many relatives and friends.
