Measure L Committee sets its next meeting
The next meeting of the Measure L Oversight Committee — five community members appointed to oversee the expenditures of the recent sales tax, which Ridgecrest City Council-members pledged to spend on public safety and street improvements — will be held on Sept. 10 at 5 p.m.
According to the minutes of last week’s meeting, the five members listened to a brief overview of the current Measure L budget.
The committee then identified two focus areas, and assigned specific committee members to each effort.
The first will obtain an understanding of the city budget — past and present — to identify spending trends and currently obligated Measure L expenditures in the contest of the budget. The second will review public comments regarding proposed expenditures.
Meetings are held every other Monday at City Hall in the conference room. The public is invited to attend.Story First Published: 2012-09-05
