Chamber speaker to discuss UAS opportunity The Ridgecrest Chamber of Comm
The Ridgecrest Chamber of Commerce’s August luncheon is set for Tuesday, Aug. 14, from noon to 1 p.m. at Victoria’s at the Heritage. The speaker will be China Lake Alliance Board Member Eileen Shibley, who will talk about a unique opportunity that could be coming to Inyokern Airport.
Unmanned aerial systems are the cutting edge of aviation technology, and the potential exists for the nonmilitary use of these machines to expand in California.
Inyokern Airport is in the running to be a test site for these civilian applications, which would be a big draw to the local economy. Shibley will explain what this means for Inyokern and the area as a whole, as well as the efforts to make sure Inyokern is selected as a test site.
Because of an unfortunate early adjournment of the July meeting, the group will also be talking about great new member benefits as promised.
The cost of the luncheon is $15 for members who RSVP and $20 for nonmembers or members without reservations. Call the chamber office at 760-375-8331, or e-mail email@example.com by Aug. 13.Story First Published: 2012-08-08
